Working Process of CHAMUNDA VMC Series (500 / 800 & 800 / 1500)

The CHAMUNDA VMC Series is a next-generation Vertical Machining Center engineered for high-speed, precision milling operations. With a rugged build, flexible configuration options, and advanced control systems, this machine is ideal for industries demanding accuracy, speed, and reliability in vertical machining.

Table and Travel Capacities

The VMC Series features generous X, Y, and Z-axis travels, allowing for expansive machining operations. Whether it’s the 500 × 800 mm variant or the 800 × 1500 mm configuration, both machines accommodate large workpieces with ease, ensuring exceptional flexibility across a variety of part sizes.

Axis Precision and Motion

Linear movements along all three axes (X, Y, and Z) are enhanced with rapid feed rates up to 24 m/min, boosting productivity while maintaining high accuracy. This allows complex contours, drilling, and face milling to be performed with uncompromising speed and control.

Spindle Capabilities

Equipped with a powerful BT40 spindle taper and speeds up to 8000 rpm, the CHAMUNDA VMC delivers excellent cutting performance across materials like steel, aluminum, and cast iron. The 5.5 / 7.5 kW spindle motor ensures a consistent torque profile, facilitating heavy-duty machining as well as high-speed finishing operations.

Tool Handling Excellence

With optional Arm-type or Drum-type ATC systems, the VMC can house up to 24 tools, enabling seamless changeovers and multi-tool operations. Fast tool change times of under 3.5 seconds reduce idle time and support uninterrupted production runs.

Structural Stability and Load Bearing

The precision-ground table supports loads up to 800 kg, ensuring both small and heavy parts can be machined without deflection or vibration. The rigid machine frame provides superior damping, minimizing thermal expansion and boosting part accuracy.

Dimensional Accuracy

Accuracy is at the heart of the VMC Series. With positioning accuracy of ±0.005 mm and repeatability of ±0.003 mm, the machine guarantees consistently high-quality results—ideal for mold making, precision components, and aerospace-grade applications.

Compact and Heavy-Duty Build

Despite its expansive capabilities, the CHAMUNDA VMC is designed with space efficiency in mind.
